• Set-up and maintain the tool recycle inspection process for production tools using lasers and CAD data.
• Have the ability to do model geometry verification and checking along with setting up new processes of scanning and nesting of parts to make programs run much more efficient.
• Improve on old N.C. computer programs to increase productivity and ease of machining.
• Act as liaison between Engineering, Methods and Manufacturing departments troubleshooting programing and manufacturing problems

The toolmaker must be familiar with fitting, polishing, troubleshooting & knowledge of Hot Runner systems. Basically an all around guy who works the bench & keeps tools running. Knowledge of CNC machines is a bonus. I would expect much experience with all manual machines, especially surface grinding. Willing to work 2nd shift would even be better, we offer anyone working 2nd shift a 10% incentive as long as they work 2nd shift.

1.)We have start of the art equipment and the ability to hold and measure extremely tight tolerances, +/-0.003µ on a daily basis.

2.) I prefer someone with experience in the manufacturing of "special" cutting tools, step drills, porting tools, performance end mills, performance drills, reamers etc. Who also has a working knowledge of the the tools geometry. I can not use someone who only has experience manufacturing hss drill bits, or loading a machine who makes the same end mill 300 days of the year. The person needs to efficiently perform setups several times a day. Loading exp. a plus

3.) Someone who doesn't come from the Kennametals of the world, integrating employees from larger companies has been a real headache for us. We like to consider ourselves an emergency room for our customers and the people we have hired from larger companies just have not adapted very well to our scheme or environment. Being our size we do not have the support staff that the big guys have, (i.e. setup techs, mfg. engineers, maintenance) the operators to a degree are responsible for everything. This has also been an issue for Kennametal like trainees.

4.) Programming experience, so much of the software on cutter grinders are similar these days you could go from an Anca to a Walter and train in no time. Obviously the transition would be much easier with Anca experience, but I would never close the door if there was no experience using and Anca but there was using a Walter, Rollomatic, machines using numoroto software, etc.

Experience working in an IPD and/or IPT structure is desired.  Leads the work group to meet accountabilities for Customer Support, Employee Management and Development, Social Responsibility,, and Operating Margin Management. (see attached)
 Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
 Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
 Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, honing machines and shapers.
 Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
 Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
 Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
 Sets up and operates machine on trial run (prove-out), when afforded, to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
 Confers with Manufacturing Engineering, Programmers, Planners, and other personnel to resolve machining or assembly problems.
 Takes responsibility for maintaining good housekeeping practices with assigned machines and immediate work areas.
 Applies good technical practices to care for and prevent damage to machining and measuring equipment.
 Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to ISO 9002/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
 Must contribute to a positive work environment.
 Performs any task required to support customer requirements and company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Knowledge of production control & MRP systems
Ability to work with other PC type personnel (PC & Procurement)

Two years Lead or Supervisory Experience in aerospace machining
Ability to work on any crew or any shift and ability to work well with other crews

Two years of CNC milling experience
Ability to perform own set ups using precision measuring equipment
Ability to read and understand aerospace engineering drawings
Ability to work with limited or no supervision
Ability to do in process inspections using all means of precision measuring equipment
Thorough understanding of aerospace quality requirements
Programs will be strictly controlled and process driven. Changes will be limited to those with authority to do so
Exposure to lean manufacturing and understanding of the tools

Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer will be the liaison between Design Engineering and internal and external manufacturing partners to develop and implement efficient, cost effective and high quality manufacturing specifications and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and support on manufacturing technology
• Assist Design Engineering in determining technical specifications and quality requirements for manufactured parts
• Collaborate with Design Engineering and Operations to create and maintain Bills of Materials
• Investigate operational problems affecting manufacturing, quality assurance and production assembly
• Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes to improve performance, increase reliability and decrease costs

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have expertise in a range of manufacturing technologies including but not limited to castings, forgings, machining and coating processes. Proven project management skills and experience including new product development are essential. Effective communication skills across a diverse cross-section of associates is required. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft products and knowledge of CAD software is desirable. Qualified candidates will also possess 5-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, have experience in quality systems and documentation, especially ISO, and have experience in material review board, corrective action procedures, especially ISO, and bills of material. A Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
