· Use Mastercam to develop CNC programs for aircraft and space engine hardware, continuously improving upon existing processes and updating programs accordingly
· Define and maintain manufacturing processes by studying customer blueprints and testing manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment
· Utilize Solidworks to lead the design of work-holding and tooling to support production schedules.
· Responsible for the design and development of work holding, custom tooling, and gauging to meet customer inspection specifications
· Support the production floor by troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions to keep machines running conforming parts
· Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities in machining processes by leveraging new cutting and automation tools with external vendors
· Manage tooling being returned from completed jobs (evaluate condition, sharpen as needed, and put away in vending solution, etc.)
· Maintain tool set up sheets, record programming changes, and sustain appropriate engineering paperwork
· Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming in a machine shop required
· Strong proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5M
· Experience with Mastercam 2022/2023, certification a plus
· Proficiency with Siemens and/or Fanuc controllers, DMG Mori machine tool experience is preferred

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing CNC programs, Manufacturing Work/Setup Instructions, and Inspection Instructions. This position will also provide manufacturing support and machine set-up for first-piece prove-out while working with the shop personnel, looking for continuous process improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide CNC Programming leadership to CNC Operators, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interpret engineering drawings and develop CNC programs. This will include using CAD/CAM software and G-code for lathes and for mills, maintaining legacy CNC programs, and creating new programs.
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing group with regards to the manufacturing processes/tooling related to CNC equipment including CNC Mills, and CNC Lathes. This also would include interpreting inspection/CMM data and analyzing results. Make recommendations and/or adjustments based on analysis or experience and/or other manufacturing related issues as required.
• Determine tooling/gaging requirements to manufacture parts in the most efficient manner which includes using existing tooling, purchasing new tooling, or developing tooling with or without assistance from the Manufacturing Engineer as required.
• Develop Work Instructions and/or Setup Instructions to aid in the manufacturing of parts. These instructions will be generated during the programming task.
• Develop Inspection Methods/Instructions to ensure that manufactured parts meet operational sketch and/or final print requirements. This may require working with manufacturing engineering and/or inspection to determine best methods/gaging to accurately perform inspection.
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in assigned area.
• Confer with Quality Control, Material, Manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support. Consult with Project engineers to obtain specialized information when required.
• Maintain records for CNC Programming. These documents include but are not limited to CNC Programs, Setup Instructions, Work Instructions, Inspection Instructions, and Program Approvals.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.)
• Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds
• Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
• Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Education Required: HS Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience programming Multi-Axis CNC Lathes/Mills. Experience with CAD/CAM (Mastercam & Esprit preferred).
• Must have a broad knowledge of tooling required to perform various complex machining operations with the ability to identify required tools and source, as necessary with a willingness to learn the newest developments to improve process.
• Experience with Heidenhain iTNC-530 & Okuma OSP-P300 is a plus

We are a small profitable company. Looking for candidate that enjoys working on his own and making small batches of different parts. Pay would range from $25 to $34 an hour, depending on skill and experience (possibly more for ideal candidate). Health and dental insurance for individual, PTO and holiday pay after 6 months. Machines will be in climate controlled building by May of this year.
